It was due to this experience that I bought Yaeger’s Home Study Course, which ended up helping me to succeed in all three sections with impressive scores.

The founder, Dr. Phil Yaeger, has been preparing candidates for the exam since 1977. I liked the fact Dr. Yaeger and his team provided access to a tutors help line. It is a valuable part of their student support system and is an 800 number. I myself have made loads of calls to this hotline number and have talked with very patient teachers (including Dr. Yaeger himself a couple of times) who never finished the call until I had no further questions.
The lecture videos are quite engaging and are delivered by experienced tutors. The lecturer would initially explain key concepts, and then take the student through multiple choice questions and examples. A feature with the Yaeger system is that more lesson time is used on materials that will more likely appear on the exam. The tutors also encourage students to study the most important questions likely to show up in the exam.
Also worth mentioning are Yaeger’s cram DVDs which can add between 5 to 15 points to your final exam score. The cram DVDs vary in length (between 7 to 16 hours) but cover all noteworthy sections in great detail. These cram DVDs are aimed at identifying the student’s weakest areas and improving those areas right before the exam. I doubt it makes much difference whichever CPA review course you use, the Yaeger cram DVDs will complement any course and offer plenty of last-minute knowledge.
Annually, the Yaeger CPA review course is updated. This includes the lesson videos they revamp annually. It means the course is pretty much current and you can have assurance the material is still relevant.
Surprisingly, in spite of their high quality, Yaeger CPA products are priced lower than many other CPA exam review courses. Overall, I am very happy with the Yaeger CPA review course as it helped me pass the CPA exam. I would not hesitate in recommending it to anyone hoping to succeed in the CPA exam the first time.
